• PRE Trying to become interoperable with ITunes (JP)
  • Pre was being touted as an iPhone killer, but Apple had their fallback (works with iTunes was only the iPhone)
  • Palm wrote themselves a little workaround and had the Pre synching with iTunes
  • Apple changed the software and locked out the Pre again
  • Palm is calling this unfair use of standards meant for interoperability
  • Palm has filed a complaint with the U.S.B. Implementers Forum, an industry group established by technology companies that developed the technology that links computers to other electronic devices, claiming Apple is restraining trade.
  • Bottom line: Each hardware vendor has a specific ID assigned to their hardware that computers use to identify the hardware to find drivers, etc..
    • Apple is using this to lock out other devices, Palm almost immediately began spoofing Apple’s Id to get the Pre to synch again and so the war continues
    • Who wins who looses? Up to the consumers? Steven Thoughts??
• Pearl Jam Releases to Retail AND Rock Band 2 Simultaneously
  • Already have a full album as DLC on Rock Band 2
  • Now they are going to release in stores their album, Backspacer, and also to RB2 rhythm game as DLC
  • If you buy the album from the store? various other PJ songs as DLC.

• L4D 1 DLC Finally! (JP)
  • Crash Course – All new campaign that spans between No Mercy (helicopter rescue) and Death Toll (overturned cars on a road)
  • Co-op, survival maps, 30 min versus mode, new dialogue w/ original cast
  • $0 for PC users and $7 for 360 owners (for all the times Steven has complained about the Console gamers getting over and the PC Guys being left out… )
  • So much for the naysayers that claim Valve is abandoning the original for L4D 2

  • There’s a new 5, 10, and 25 man dungeon
  • Major PvP changes, both Arena (small team format) and world PvP
  • You now get XP for fighting in PvP (YAY, only been asking this since day 1)
  • Conquest (now 2nd highest symbol) now drops  in any dungeon that dropped the lower symbols
  • New symbol for new gear in the new dungeon, Emblem of Conquest
  • Balance changes to nearly every class (too much to go over here)
  • HUGE engineering overhaul, thats a profession for you non-wow types
  • (Steven)Only thing I hate about patch days? the mod-roullette game.. which ones work and which ones blow up the game. blech.
• StarCraft II Delayed untill at least 2010 (JP)
  • We pretty much figured this was coming since the Beta has not even begun, but I am bummed to hear it officially.
  • (Steven) I’m more bummed because I’m part of the beta and that means longer until I get beta code
• Champions Online Offers Lifetime Subscription plan
  • (JP) – My lifetime or is that the game’s lifetime? Because MMO’s tend to tank pretty hard when they suck.
  • (Steven) – Your lifetime. They plan to send a hitman to your house 2 mo’s after you purchase the lifetime sub.
